In 1989, together with two others chefs, Sibyl opened a restaurant in Hamburg, Germany where she worked happily und successfully for eight years. “I had no intentions of leaving, but on holiday in 1997 I fell in love and got married.”
Now having lived nine years in one of the most beautiful places on earth she has transferred her career to Costa Rica. In 2001 she opened a cooking school ready to share all her knowledge and experience.
The cooking school offers individually adjusted lessons for beginning and advanced cooking lovers. The opportunity to learn by doing and receive individualized attention will amplify knowledge and improve technique.
Classes introduce students to menu planning, new tastes and recipes and inspire creativity in the kitchen.
Lessons can be given in English, German or Spain
The Cooking School is open for everybody, you don’t need to
be a guest of Casas Pelicano.
The Basic Course offers five 4-5 hours lessons which introduce students to essential cooking techniques. Topics covered include: preparations of stocks and sauces, three basic types of dough and the secrets of meat cuts and their ideal preparations. Each lesson will culminate in a three-course meal. Time is reserved for tasting and discussing variations. The class is flexible and food substitutions are not a problem.
Other courses give you the opportunity to intensify a special field.
Lessons on almost every subject can be arranged.
